Using SquareCalc

Starting a new calculation

Begin with a New Calculation, then enter a descriptive name such as Living Room - Flooring or Bathroom - Tile.

Entering dimensions

Enter length and width. SquareCalc calculates the measured area automatically as you type.

Imperial / Metric

SquareCalc supports feet and inches as well as meters and centimeters. Switching units converts the current calculation so its physical dimensions remain the same.

Overage

Choose None, 5%, 10%, 15%, or enter a Custom percentage. SquareCalc shows both Measured Area and Total Needed, including the additional material.

Saving a calculation

After naming a calculation and entering valid dimensions, tap Save Calculation. Each saved calculation remains separate, so its total is never combined with another room, material, or job.

Saved Calculations

Open Saved Calculations to review your saved work. Select a calculation to open it, make changes, then tap Save Changes to update that calculation.

Deleting a saved calculation

Use Delete from Saved Calculations and confirm the prompt. This removes only the selected calculation.

Clear

Clear resets the current draft without deleting Saved Calculations. If you are editing a saved calculation, use Save Changes only when you want the edited draft to replace that saved record.

Automatic saving

Your current draft and Saved Calculations are stored locally on your device and restored when the app is reopened.
